Yesterday  in Tokyo, Toyota Motor Corp. unveiled a its second hybrid-only automobile. The new “Sai”, sedan  is bigger and more expensive than Toyota’s Prius, thus making another leap in its “Green Technology”.

Starting Dec.7 Toyota’s Sai will only be be sold in Japan for prices ranging from 3,380,000 yen to 4,260,000 yen (roughly $37,200 to $46,800 US). Toyota stated that global sales plans have yet to be decided.

The Sai comes with a bigger 2.4 liter engine compared to Toyota’s 1.8-liter in Prius. The inside of the Sia is roomier and has fancier features such as an interior made from a unique plastic made up of plant-derived materials.

The Sai gets 23 kilometers per liter (about 54 miles per gallon), which Toyota says is  double the mileage of a comparable regular gas-engine model. The Prius however gets 38 kilometers per liter (about 90 miles per gallon).
